Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heart saver First Aid Course Completion Card that is valid for two years. During the course, an AHA Instructor conducts video-based lessons and works with students to complete their first aid skills practice and testing. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is available in two different training methods - blended learning and classroom training. All ACLS course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA ACLS Course Completion Card. (ACLS) is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course with the goal to improve outcomes for adult patients with cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies through provider training. The ACLS Provider course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, the students will enhance skills and clinical decision- making abilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.
Phlebotomy Technician
As a Phlebotomy Technician, graduates will be able to collect, transport, and process blood specimens successfully for analysis. This certification will provide a foundation in safety and infection control, adequate quality patient care, medical terminology. effective communication, computer skills, and the general understanding of the anatomy and physiology of individuals. Traditional classroom lecture, practical simulation consisting of 30 successful unaided venipuncture collections, and 10 unaided capillary collections during a clinical rotation. This will be used in correlation of independent study and collaborative group discussions,
Nursing Assistant
As a Nursing Assistant, graduates will be able to work in home care, assisted living, rehabilitation centers, long term care facilities, and acute care hospitals. This certification will provide a foundation in health care careers, safe quality patient care, medical terminology communication, computer skills, and the general understanding of the anatomy and physiology of individuals. Traditional classroom lecture, practice simulation, and clinical rotations will be used in correlation of independent study and collaborative group discussions.
Clinical Medical Assistant
As a Clinical Medical Assistant, graduates will be able to provide an overview of the various components of the medical assistants' professional responsibilities. This course is intended for students who are preparing for many of the exciting, challenging, and rewarding careers in the healthcare field. This program will prepare students to assist physicians by performing functions related to both business administration and clinical duties of a medical office.
Instruction in business aspect includes: insurance reporting. office accounting, and medical records. Clinical instruction includes: preparation of the patient for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures and the use of the electrocardiograph machine.
Pharmacy Tech
As a Pharmacy Technician, this course will assist the learner with gaining competency in the fundamentals of assisting a pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications in multiple forms. Learners will be trained on the different medication classes, interpretation of prescription hard copies, drug dose calculations, processing prescriptions, laws of pharmacy, and packing medications.
EKG Tech
As an EKG Technician, the student will gain understanding of their role of performing diagnostic tests on patients, monitoring patient's blood pressure, collecting medical data to be used by doctors, and administering test to determine the cardiovascular health of a patient. The EKG technician aide must maintain a professional relationship with the patients in order to maintain objectivity and be able to function in the job in a safe and caring manner. The EKG technician is part of the health care delivery team and follows the orders prescribed by the medical doctor.
Medication Aide
The Medication Aide Program is a training program that prepares healthcare professionals to assist in administering medications safely and effectively. It covers topics such as pharmacology, dosage calculations, medication administration routes, storage, and documentation. Participants learn legal and ethical considerations, medication safety protocols, and infection control practices. The program includes classroom lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and practical exercises. Upon completion, participants can take an exam or obtain certification to work under the supervision of licensed nurses. Medication aides play a crucial role in enhancing patient safety and improving medication administration efficiency. They support nurses and healthcare professionals, expanding career opportunities in various healthcare settings.
